ABOUT US
✂️✂️ An Update from Behind the Chair ✂️✂️ ***Due to ongoing doctor’s appointments and schedule adjustments, online booking will now be available up to 1 month in advance. Previously, availability extended 2 months out. I feel incredibly grateful to share that my pregnancy has been smooth and healthy so far. At the same time, this season of life has brought a new level of balance into focus. Between managing a home, raising two children, preparing for our newest addition, and continuing to give my full energy to each guest in my chair, I’ve realized that something has to shift. While my original plan was to maintain full-time hours throughout my pregnancy, it’s become clear that this is no longer sustainable in a way that allows me to show up fully... in both at work and at home. Beginning in June, I will be reducing my hours to align more closely with what my schedule will look like after maternity leave. This means a permanent adjustment to fewer appointment times. My schedule will decrease by about 6 hours a week. This decision has not come lightly, and to be honest, has been an emotional one for me. After nearly two decades behind the chair, and with many of you who have been with me for 10+ years, the relationships I’ve built mean everything to me. You are so much more than clients..you are a part of my extended family. I understand that this change may impact availability, and in some cases, may require you to seek alternative scheduling options. I completely respect and understand that. For those who are able, pre-booking appointments will be the best way to secure your preferred times and continue this journey with me. Thank you for your continued support, loyalty, and understanding during this transition. It truly means more than I can express!! Thank you for all the wonderful years and I'm looking forward to many more. With gratitude 🙏 your stylist, Kelsey ___________________________ Welcome to Modish Hi, I’m Kelsey 👋 and don’t worry… this won’t be one of those long Pinterest recipe life stories when all you came for was the lasagna. 😂 This page has three main parts: • A quick intro to get to know me 🤙 • What’s changing behind the chair in 2026✨ • Service maintenance expectations ✂️ But before I dive in on that I would like to get a couple things out of the way... 👇 ⸻ 😉Great hair doesn’t happen by accident😉 Pre-book your next appointment online before someone else grabs your spot! ⸻ 🚫I Am Not Accepting New Clients🚫 If it has been 18 months or longer since your last appointment, you will be considered a new guest. At this time, I am not accepting new guests. Most of my clients find me through word-of-mouth, which is such an honor! ☺️ If you’d like to check back in the future, it will be posted here. ⸻ WAXING PREP NOTICE For the safety and integrity of your skin, please review: Waxing cannot be performed on skin that is compromised, sensitized, or using certain products/medications. Please avoid the following prior to your appointment: • Retinol or prescription retinoids (7–10 days) • Acne treatments (benzoyl peroxide, topical medications) • Exfoliating acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic) • Recent peels or resurfacing treatments • Sunburned or irritated skin Failure to disclose may result in skin lifting. If any of the above apply, your service will be modified or declined. Thank you for helping us maintain safe, high-quality results. ⸻ 🍼🤍 To my Modish family 🤍🍼 I’ve had several clients ask if I plan to close once baby arrives. First, thank you for caring enough to ask... after nearly 2 decades behind the chair, so many of you truly feel like family. But let me reassure you… I’m not going anywhere. I genuinely love what I do. Modish is creative, grounding, and such an important part of who I am outside of being a wife and mom. I truly believe every woman needs something that fills her cup - and this is mine. That said, I will be adjusting my hours. As we grow from a family of four (plus our furry one 🐾) to five, I know I’ll need to scale back a bit. I anticipate moving from 4 days a week to a rotating 2–3 days (keeping similar hours I currently work, just working less days). Since this is my first pregnancy, I can’t predict exactly what that will look like just yet, but I promise I’m committed to making it work. Modish isn’t closing. This season is about balance, not goodbye. 🤍 Thank you for supporting me through every chapter. ⸻ 🗓️ Appointment Reminders and Cancellation Policy Update🗓️ To help ensure no one misses their scheduled service, automated appointment reminders are sent 72 hours, 48 hours, and 24 hours before your appointment. These reminders are designed to support busy schedules and reduce no-shows. At this time, reminder settings unfortunately cannot be customized per client—it is an all-or-nothing system. After testing different options, I’ve found that having all three reminders in place results in the fewest missed appointments. As I prepare for maternity leave and return with a more limited schedule, I will be enforcing my cancellation policy more consistently for all guests so I can accommodate as many as possible. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to a cancellation fee. This ensures I can best accommodate all clients and maintain the quality of my schedule. Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support during this special time. 🤍 ⸻ 📍Arrival & Check-In Policy📍 Life happens! 💨 If you’re running late, please text me 📲 (330) 696-3145. Guests arriving more than 10-15 minutes late may need to be rescheduled based on the service booked. When you arrive for your appointment, please take a seat in the lobby and make yourself comfortable until your scheduled time. You’re welcome to help yourself to the coffee bar. ⚠️ Please do not come back to my suite early to start your appointment. Even if my chair appears open, a guest has likely just left and I may still be sanitizing, prepping, or transitioning between appointments. This time is necessary to provide the quality of service you deserve (If I'm able, I'll greet you in lobby to begin your service early)🫧 ⸻ ☺️ Getting to Know Me ☺️ I’ve been a stylist since 2009. Hair has been part of my life for as long as I can remember (just ask my American Girl dolls). My passion led me to a competitive high school cosmetology program where over 500 students applied and only 20 were accepted. GPA and attendance mattered, and that work ethic still defines how I run my business today. I started working in a salon the same summer I graduated high school and have never looked back! One of my favorite parts of this career is helping you find your ✨glow✨. Confidence is something you build from within, and it makes me happy to get to be a small part of that. I care deeply about intention, excellence, and detail. Every service at Modish is done thoughtfully. I appreciate the respect you show by honoring your appointments with me that allows me to continue offering the level of care you expect here. 🫶 You never stop learning in the beauty industry and that's my absolute favorite thing about it. It’s always been a dream of mine to be a small business owner and I’m so very excited to make everyone feel at home at Modish Studio. Modish just turned 4 years old 🥹. It's been a wonderful 4 years and looking forward to many many more! Good hair days start here!✂️ ⸻ 🔔 Changes Coming in 2026 🔔 In 2026, I will be implementing updates to better serve my guests and protect quality standards, including: • Appointment length adjustments • Timed-service accuracy • Maintenance-based pricing • Improved scheduling consistency Example: If a service is designed to be maintained every 6–8 weeks but is only scheduled every 15-20 weeks, it requires extended time and corrective work. Moving forward, these appointments will be booked with longer service blocks to stay on track and updated pricing when needed. *I cannot offer this option for hair extensions, as this would compromise the integrity of your hair. ⚡️I will offer this service block as an add-on when booking your appointments online for yourself.⚡️ ✂️ Men Haircut Services ✂️ ✂️• If it’s been 13+ weeks, please book Men’s Haircut + Small Service Block. ✂️ •If it's been 17+ weeks, please book a Men's Haircut + Medium Service Block. ✂️ • If it’s been 22+ weeks, please book Men’s Haircut + Large Service Block ✂️ • If it’s been 26+ weeks, please book Men’s Haircut + Extra Large Service Block ✂️ • If it's been over 8 months, custom pricing may apply beyond this, please contact salon to book. Thank you for supporting changes that allow me to continue delivering high-level results. ⸻ 💬 Hair Maintenance FAQ 💬 How soon should I book my next appointment? Most guests schedule before leaving. If we are on a tight schedule and I cannot, I recommend rebooking online asap. If you forget, you will receive an automated reminder via text/email to book again approximately one week after your appointment. It is very easy to book online, and if you need any assistance I will gladly help! ☺️ 📌 Please note: • I often book weeks to months in advance, consistently (intensifies during the holiday months) • Online booking opens two months out. • In-person booking may allow further scheduling, 2+ months in advance if needed for special events. Feel free to reach out to me or let me know at your upcoming appointment. ⸻ How often should blondes come in? • Toner/Gloss: every 4–8 weeks • Highlights: every 8–12 weeks ⸻ Balayage / Lived-In Color Low-maintenance does not mean no-maintenance: • Gloss + trim every 6–8 weeks • Full refresh 2–3 times per year ⸻ Gray Coverage Roots typically show within 3–5 weeks. ⸻ Do all colors fade the same? After a second occurrence within 12 months, full payment is required before rebooking. A third no-show/cancellation may result in declined service appointments.
